How Assault Develops Every Athlete
At Assault Fastpitch, player development starts with softball—but it doesn’t end there. Every athlete progresses through a structured training model built on fundamentals, individual growth, and accountability, all guided by our Three D’s: Desire, Dedication, and Determination. We develop the whole player, on and off the field.
Fundamentals First
Every Assault athlete starts with the fundamentals—proper mechanics in throwing, catching, hitting, and base running. These building blocks are reinforced at every age level, giving athletes a strong technical foundation to build on as they advance.
Position-Specific Development
As athletes progress, training becomes more specialized. Coaches work with players on the specific skills and responsibilities of their position—whether that’s pitching mechanics, catching fundamentals, infield footwork, or outfield reads—helping each athlete grow into a more complete player at her position.
Building Softball IQ
Skill alone isn’t enough. Assault athletes develop their softball IQ through situational awareness, decision-making, communication, and game strategy. Players learn not only how to execute each play, but also why it works and how to make smart adjustments during competition.
Strength, Speed & Agility
Athletic performance on the field depends on what happens off it. Assault incorporates age-appropriate strength, speed, and agility development to help athletes build the physical foundation needed to compete and stay healthy as they advance.
Mental Performance & Mindfulness
The mental side of the game is trained alongside physical skills. Through age-appropriate mindfulness, breathing routines, positive self-talk, and preparation strategies, athletes learn to manage pressure, stay focused, and compete with confidence. Players are also taught to develop a “short memory”—learning from mistakes, resetting, and being ready for the next play.
Development at Every Level
Every athlete progresses at her own pace. Coaches track individual growth and tailor instruction to help each player reach her potential—whether she’s just starting out or preparing for high-level competitive play.
More Than Athletic Skill
Development at Assault includes accountability, discipline, and character—the same qualities that build strong teammates and strong young women. Athletes are held to standards of effort, attitude, and responsibility both on the field and in their representation of the Assault program.
Academic Accountability
Assault requires that every athlete maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0. This standard reflects our belief that developing a strong student is just as important as developing a strong athlete—and that success on the field should go hand in hand with success in the classroom.
Preparing for What’s Next
As athletes progress through our program, training is designed to prepare them for higher levels of competition—including advanced travel play and, for qualified athletes, college-level opportunities through pathways like Assault Premier.
Ready to Take the Next Step?
Whether your athlete is beginning her journey or preparing for a higher level of competition, Assault Fastpitch provides a development pathway built around her growth on the field, in the classroom, and as a young leader.
